Double fail

Lined up my mechanic to do upper control arm/ball joint and lower ball joint. Ordered all the parts last week and.....wait, what? I only ordered a single bushing....dang, got on line and ordered the twin bushing and metal sleeve...called the mechanic and told him of my dilemma. No problem....see you next week. Strike one

Wait, winter's coming....I could flush my coolant system....get that over with!! All is not lost (since I had scheduled his time). I called back, said I'd go get the coolant and meet him. No problem!

Go to NAPA....they're out. It's October and there's a blank spot on the shelf where the Zerex G-05 should be....."It's October.....how can you be out of anti-freeze?" I get the blank stare from the counter help. Strike two

None all Wal-Mart (duh) strike three
They did have oil for my trunk supply, so I bought it....dang it.

The kid at Auto Zone had no idea what Zerex G-05 was....."I have the universal Prestone(?)"...I told him to Google Zerex G-05 and left defeated....dang it, strike four.

Then I remembered there was some Maker's Mark that needed attention at home, so I went home...

Just one of those Friday afternoons....well the weather was spectacular though!!

Sounds like you had one of those days or week.
I have never seen GO-5 in a Walmart. But sure I have seen it in a O`Rilleys. Don`t be surprised when the pimpled face kid "expert" behind the counter has no idea what you are talking about.

Ahh.........yes............the usual issues with attempting to obtain the exact product desired. G-05 is a PITA...........NAPA might have it, but can certainly get it. Buy yourself a case for the next couple of years.

Makers Mark definitely solved the problem.

What is the vehicle? IF you're truly anal about using the correct coolant, why not just use MB coolant?

Man, I feel for you guys in parts of the country where you have to mail-order everything. I just make a phone call and then drive a few miles to pick up any part I need for MB. And I'm talking OEM correct stuff.
