The O-rings grabbed due to not being well lubricated.

The Fuel Injection Shop where I worked backing the 1970s used a generic version of STP that K-mart sold.

In the case of the Delivery Valve Holders the O-rings would have gone on the Holders and then I would have taken a small brush and coated the outside of the O-ring with the STP and screwd the Delivery Valve holder down; with the Socket but no Wrench as far as it would go by hand.

When I had the Fuel Injection Pumps on the Test Stand sometimes I had to remove the Delivery Valve Holder/s; the STP kept the O-rings from grabbing as they stayed in place on the Delivery Valve Holder when they were unscrewed.

I dipped them in fresh Rotella 15/40. If I don't plan to remove them again I think that should suffice?

I have a question,
I am about to replace the o-rings and copper seals on my 602 do I need to remove the torx screws and plates before removing the distribution valves. These are the ones I'm speaking of

Great thread by the way

Yes, you won't be able to unscrew the valves otherwise.

Thank you. I suspected just need to run to the store to get one and thought I'd ask before running out and buying one. Best Regards
