Really we are all a bunch of good guys here. I've been on for a year and learned a lot. The DD forum is normally very professional, with a bare minimum of the foolishness found in lots of other places on the web. If you want foolishness go check out the open discussion forum on this site....

I'm an electrical engineer so I have jumped in to help on a lot of people's electrical problems on W123 and W124s. At first I was kind of reluctant to jump in but now I am on almost every day.

We all have different ranges of expertise and there are some highly talented people on board. A lot of us have day jobs (I'm somewhere over NM on my way to a customer site typing this right now) and we can't be on all the time.

These cars are amazing machines, please consider sticking around as you will learn a great deal about how your car works. Even if you are not comfortable doing your own work, having the knowledge is a wonderful thing to spot problems early and understand what your mechanic is telling you.

Hmm. this thread seems to be a tad out of character for this site, but everyone jumps in to defend their love. if someone said something rude to my wife, I'd jump right up and get right in their face. this is how we feel about this forum, and really, really really, we are an extremely helpful bunch.
this thread was the first I'd heard about putting any oil in the pump, I'm glad you started the thread.
Welcome to the forum! sorry we seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot.
I'll go in and edit out anything I find inappropriate.
