No Joy.
Popped the Alda off this morning and the low end throttle response was amazing, obviously, but when the turbo should have come in, it didn't - just the black smoke of unused fuel. I used to wrench at a local garage during the 70s, and have been a gearhead all my life, but I think I may have to take this one to a professional to sort out - I think this is out of my range of expertise. Bummer. I don't think I've got the knowledge to start messing with the wastgate and to tell the truth, I just want it running right. It's a beautiful car, cherry, and I just want to drive it without this hanging over my head. Thanks so much to all of you here on the board, you guys have been a great help and a well spring of knowledge and I will certainly enjoy being a part of the neighborhood. Thanks again! Mike |

Turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter. 70,000 miles. I would never have gone that way with so few miles. She runs like a top. What a car! Now... on to the broken tach and then I'm done.
