W123 Tie-Rods & Center Link
Hi All,
I need to inspect my tie-rods and the center link prior to trying to adjust the steering box to help remove some slop. If I discover the tie-rods and/or center links need to be replaced can I get by with a simple toe adjustment or do I need to go to Mercedes and get the full alignment treatment, spreader bar etc. I'll have the front of the car up on jack stands so I can check as much as possible. Car's got 192,000 miles, steering has too much play but car is pretty stable at highway speed albeit with a little wander.

You could try it without the alignment and see what happens. If there is an issue get the alignment.

But do I need an MB knowledgeable shop to do the alignment or is toe simple enough for any front end place? Suppose I could do it my self too with measuring and stuff but I don't trust me.
