Today I got the rear end raised back up to stock in an effort to get my shocks to an angle where they can work. I was hoping raising it would cure the rubbing but it looks like I have destroyed the carrier bearing rubber ring. It was new I am pretty sure so I may seek other options on its replacement or repair.
Any thoughts on beefing that rubber isolation part up? The ford 9" is mounted on springs instead of the chassis so there is a lot more movement on that rubber doughnut. I am thinking of filling it with urethane or something. While it was in the shop, another old fart came up and offered me a corvette for it. I said I was not done playing with it yet but thanks anyhow! He liked the looks of it and probably did not know about the diesel motor.

Nice to hear you're still moving forward on this .
I notice that B.A.T. is getting loaded with old men's low mileage Corvettes that no one wants anymore . Idiots for not driving and enjoying them when they could .

If you PM me your address I'll send off my old turbo w/clipped vanes - we had talked about this before. I used an adjustable waste gate controller and it worked great but my new one is moving a LOT more air at the expense of turbo lag which I can live with on a one-mile track.
On the driveshaft - I went with a US-style "conventional" driveshaft, starting at the trans output flange with an adaptor plate from Jags That Run that gets you to a standard U-joint. Then it's just a tube/slip yoke back to the 9" and another conventional U-joint and you're home free. I think you're right that the issue is that the rear end moves WAY more than the M-B set-up with the rubber biscuits and the diff mounted to the frame. The shaft fab for Mutt is in my build thread but it's pretty straightforward. Dan |

Maybe they did. Once you get to where you can afford the toys you don't have the time to drive all of them.

Old Men's Cars
? Maybe they did what ? dive them, no, they're all absurdly low mileage .
Some guy in the junkyard yesterday was talking to my brother as I harvested some W123 parts, when he heard I have a 300CD e got ll excited and asked to buy it ~ A. it's not for sale and B. anyone who knows anything about vehicles would laugh at any price over scrap value once they looked at it .

Loaded up the CE today to take it to eau claire to a studebaker upholstery specialist. Get this, he has templates for the interior of a coupe express! It'll be a day trip up and a day back.

im in the motel 8 near madison on the freeway....94 e. I'll be home before dark if I leave as early as i did this morning. I was rolling by 530. was planning to leave at 700 am but woke up at 430 and could not go back to sleep so hit the road. it snowed a little as I eased into illinois this morning but it did not last long. very windy all through illinios but it subsided a bit as I came into wisconsin. diesel is pretty cheap now.
dropped off my truck and trailer....hopefully I'll get it back all trimmed out within about 3 weeks....probably will be 6.

My Vette has just under 600,000 miles on it, it’s a toy of course so I drive my other cars most of the time explaining the “low” mileage.

Got home about 630 pm after zig zagging around Illinois to miss the snow storms while the wind blew briskly and the thermometer read in negative digits all morning. It looks very good. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can get in and take some. Its a very tight fit getting in the door while in my enclosed trailer.

Pics of interior
Pics: I need to refresh the paint on the door and window cranks. Now that all the rest is new it makes them look shaggy. I think my favorite part is the shifter and hand brake boot he made without me asking.
