Interchangable Tranmissions for OM603...?
Like the tittle says, I'm wanting to know which transmissions I can swap around with the busted one that I have in my '87 300SDL.
I found out that M102, M103, M104, M111, OM601, OM602, OM603 all share the same bellhousing bolt pattern. Meaning that they should be able to swap around each other. However, transmission number seem next to impossible to find. Then there is also the issue of having a transmission that will fit, but not be able to live long enough behind the diesel torque. Ideally I would like to put a 5speed in like a handful of other people have done, but that's not a deciding factor. I've used the search, and goolge but I can't seem to turn up a whole lot. Anybody have some experience with this? |

I ended up one out of the same year model today in town. It's going to be picked up tomorrow and be put in Saturday barring major problems. So I guess this thread isn't really needed. Anyways, fingers crossed for the weekend.... |
