Did delivery valves, now something ain't right.
Okay good people, I'm in a bit of a jam and I need some help. I just did the delivery valves on my '95 E300. Took me several days and way much harder than I anticipated.
Anyway, just got everything back together and it's just not running right. Took a RIDICULOUS amount of cranking to get running again, and now it is lacking power. Idles nice, and quick off the line and then immediately takes a dive and will barely get out of it's own way. And smoking. Oh boy, I hope I didn't screw the pooch on this one While I was there I replaced all the plastic fuel lines and the supply hose. One inconsistency I noticed with the fuel lines (after I got everything back together of course) is the bolt #113 in the diagram. The one I received was exactly like #125 and came with two copper washers and a little o-ring, so I put it together the same. Now I am wondering if it's the wrong part. I did notice that line was very slow to fill up when cranking. Thanks.

I'm going to go by memory here but IIRC one of those has a check ball in it. Don't remember which one. I'd put the original bolts (they are called banjo bolts) back where they came from and try again.

Yep, going to put the old part back on right now. The banjo bolt is a redesign, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Now that I see the diagram it looks different, has some sort of ball bearing on the top like #125. Will post back.

If I am not mistaken that ball bearing is a check valve.

Crisis averted! Turns out the large center gasket on the fuel filter had fallen off when I took it out for better access. I found it when I took it off again to replace the fuel line. I was lucky to notice it in the dark and put two and two together.
Car runs great, whew!
