Glow Plug glitch
At first colder day, my glow plugs don't make a light until after the car is running. Haven't check it out yet, it is still starting fine. But I can tell it is not optimum on prestart GP.
I maintain 4 80-90s MB, and this symptom is the first. Here is what I know: -battery perfect -glow plugs good -no loose GP wires -Fuse good I suspect ground. Any ideas? Wayne |

Any chance you could narrow down the year/model thing a bit?

On the W123s once you turn the key and start cranking the Enbine the Glow Plug light is off and stays off until you try to Pre-glow again.
Some years and Models have Glow Plug Relays with an Afterglow feature and on those the Glow Plug Light can come one while the Engine is running. More important than what the GP Light is doing; what is the Engine doing. Is your Engine is starting and running normal after you Pre-glow.

So relay has two circuits, pre-glow and after-glow?
I have a Chiltons, but no schematic of GP circuit. Will do search on internet. Wayne |
