installing new window run: difficult but worth it
i installed a new window run on the drivers side today. this is the seal that runs in the window channel, around the inside. it was 90% easy but NOT easy to push the extended piece into place that goes down into the door. i had to use almost half a can of silicone spray and was pushing the seal, seated into the channel, down from above. i did NOT want to remove the window regulator, which may have made the job easier. if anyone has suggestions on an easier way, i am going to do the front passenger side too. on the plus side, i noticed a drastic reduction in wind noise and the window no longer rattles when the door is shut!

Years ago JC Whitney used to sell things you slipped in the window channel that would put pressure on the window and keep it from rattling. It pressed into the channel and the middle of it was cut with a slot pulled out a bit so it gave some pressure to the glass, almost like a spring. But still not as good as doing it the right way. The regulator is not really too hard to remove; just cannot remember whether it should be up or down or halfway when you take it out.

post some pics! Sounds like a pain, but it sounds like it was worth it.
