measuring brake disc thickness

not really sure how to measure thickness.i know it maybe stupid question,does anyone have pic of how its done.im measuring my front discs on 80 116 sd.?

The minmum thickness is most often stamped on the edges or cast into the Rotor somewhere. But, I have once come acrossed some with nothing on them.

Unfortunately unless the Rotor has already been resurfaced when you measure the Rotor Thickness you measure the tops of the Grooves and you cannot determine if there is any warp age. If there is warpage they cut more off during resurfacing.

Also often the outer part of the Rotor is a different thickness than the part closer to the Center of the Rotor.
