Question Sputtering and shutting off - '84 300TD

My car lost power and shut off on the interstate today. I thought maybe it got some air in the line from my diesel tank that ran low(I run a two tank WVO system). I primed the lines with the pump a bit and it fired up fine but then died off after 30sec or so. It did this a few times then I managed to limp it off the interstate and drive slow back to work. It seemed to get a little bit of power back but overall it seems like it is sputtering and I am often holding the pedal to the floor going 30mph. Could this just be some air that has gotten into the lines or maybe a filter needing changed? I did not notice any different behavior when running on WVO versus diesel.

I'm trying to decide if I need to go change the filters before I drive home or do something else.

EDIT: It's a 1984 300TD, not a 87.

I would change your filters first.
