Console trim question
My 87 124 has a frame around the shifter, it is stapled and glued to the underside of the wood piece. It is plastic with a piece of vinyl pressed into it all the way around the edge. Problem is I need a new piece and can't find one. I understand the newer cars use one that snaps in from the top. Question is will the newer version fit my 87 124? Mine is apparantly out of production. My part number is 124 6830006. I would buy a used one if anyone has one.

Still no luck fixing this. Anyone know where I can find the shifter trim piece, or another wood piece with the trim intact for a reasonable price? Mine is the early style and the shifter hole is smaller than the late style. Even the aftermarket chrome pieces seem to be only for the late style.

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.
