Wiper relay?

My wiper no longer works on intermittent, is there a relay for this?

I'll be looking to see the answer on this one also, as I have the same problem on the '83. Miss the foot feed intermittent on the 220D (washer button lightly pressed).

the Switch?

Mine acts up some days - try tweaking* the turn-signal switch...

(*) when in intermittent (in rain or lift the wipers up first) rotate the switch slightly towards ON, OFF, use turn signals, high beam. An El. Contact Cleaner spray can help, too.

It is located behind the instrument cluster on the left.

techguy512 (Bob) has a variable speed control replacement unit I've been wanting to try.

Perfect time for an upgrade.

When the intermittent did not work, I ignorantly bought a replacement turn stalk/ wiper switch unit. Still no love so I then discovered the relay was bad... duh and found it behind the cluster, speedo side on my 82 240. It is very similar to a few other relays back there. I switched them out and discovered the relay was ng.

The intermittent wipers weren't working on my wagon. Bought and installed a relay - no go. Discovered the intermittents would only work when the turn signal was cancelled after a right hand turn. Replaced the combo switch and now all is good.

Got any plans for your old, defective one? If not, I'd like to buy it.

Where is it exactly behind the instrument cluster?

Here is where to find it in the W123. It's more or less directly behind the temperature gauge...

You can get to it from below without removing the cluster by reaching up and feeling around.

Went in the trash at the junkyard. They are a dime a dozen there.
