$4K is the price I was thinking it is worth. You shouldn't take a penny less, though. If everything is in great to excellent condition and you have the documents, it should be an easy sell at $4K.

Strange... Is that burlwood on the dash? If so, that is not correct and it does not match the door panels. I would take $200 off the asking price to allow for the purchase of zebrano wood.

I wondered too about the wood. Have never seen this wood in a SD.

Don't ever remember looking at the wood although I have driven it many times...

It looks like the top layer of wood is missing. The dash trim is made up of 3 layers. Wood-metal-zebrano... Honestly, even with the trim issue I'd still have happily paid $4000 for it when I was shopping for an SD. I purchased mine for $2000 and have easily sunk another $2000 into it in parts since I bought it and its no ware as nice as that one is....

For $4000, I would expect a good running car and interior. It's a minor issue but the car and price are near the top of the market, so I would be looking for near perfection.

I agree, the veneer looks like it has peeled off completely.

I guess prices differ depending on the area. They seem to be higher around me. I wouldn't question $4000 based on condition (with receipts for work) if it popped up near me.

I see 300SDs listed around here for around $6000 but they are in mint condition, low miles, everything works and have maintenance records with them. Those same cars have also been for sale for over a year.

I saw a 300sdl near me a while back with a price of $10 000... I don't think it ever sold....
