crank shaft bolt.
is the crank shaft bolt a reverse thread or a standard. i wanted to make sure before i go and really push on it

Standard rotation, as mentioned. But they are REALLY tight - 200-250 lb-ft ish. And when they've been sitting for a while the break-away torque can be even higher with rust, etc. Expect to have to REALLY pull on it and you'll need to keep the engine from rotating with any of several methods (I used a short length of chain from the edge of the flywheel to the bellhousing mounting bolts but my trans was off and the engine was out of the car).

the engine is out of the car. i got to thinking about it and decided i didnt need to remove the harmonic balancer and didnt touch the bolt
 did how ever find out that my main bears have grooves down the middle of them :/ not really sure if crank needs to be polished yet. no scorching or scars on it, but some slight discoloration. kinda tight on money, but i'm not looking to have to remove the engine again in the next 5 years.

An Impact Gun with some OOMPH should take that Crank Nut off w/o any trouble.
