Gonna get another one!
It has been a while since my last visit to this website since I sold my old 81 300d. But I am finally back in the market to buy another diesel!!!
I am leaning towards a W124 but have some reservations about them. I am not going to be doing any conversion on this one. I just dont know alot about this model benz and any advice would help. I have read alot of threads about these cars and everyone seems to love them. I have two that I am currently looking at and would like to see if anyone on this forum could run the Carfax on them to be safe? First one is a 1990 300D with 2.5 turbo. It has 229,000 miles and looks to be in pretty good shape. Asking price is $3250.00 Vin # - WDBEB28D1LB190546 The other is a 1992 300D with 2.5 turbo. It has 285,000 miles and looks like it is in very good shape, better that above as far as body is concerned. Asking price is $3850.00 Vin # - WDBEB28D3NB715948 Do these seem like the price is about right? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. |
My impression is that the W124 diesels are about equal to W123 diesels in reliability. GSXR has completely abandoned the W123s for W124s because he says that they are much more sophisticated vehicles. The prices look pretty standard, but not unbargainable (at least for my area). Out of curiosity, why are you asking someone to run a CarFax for you? CarFax sells CarFaxes individually or in "5-packs" at their website...

Some people can run them for free.

Autocheck is cheaper. You get unlimited for a month for a few bucks more than a 5-pack from Carfax

Ok I will check that out.
I just thought that if someone on here already had the unlimited through Carfax that it wouldnt be that big of a deal to run some Vins. Thank you |
