How to remove W116 vacuum headlight adjustment switch?
Looking for some W116 experts. squiggledog would know for sure.
A few weeks ago I came across a Euro W116 with the flat Euro headlights and Euro redish amber fender lights, not the DOT approved U.S variety. The headlights have the vacuum adjusters. I have everything removed except for the vacuum adjuster switch on the dash board. how does this switch come out w/o breaking it? Does it just push out from the rear? I know there is some sort of secret little gizmo that holds it in. Charlie

The switch should be similar to a typical MB switch, with two prongs holding it in. The prongs have to be compressed to be able to push the switch out from the back end (inside the dash board).
Do you plan to use these? |

Thank you for the info. I was reaching in back, under the dash feeling around for something. I`ll be back to that yard a couple days to check it out.
No I don`t want the stuff, just couldn`t see it getting crushed of damaged by some idiot (except for me ). Also found a good emergency Triangle and the fire extinguisher, and bracket. went back to remove the stuff and some idiot set the extinguisher off inside the car. what a mess. says on the side it can be refilled. Pulled the becker analog 4 band radio also. Charlie

Test the switch too, it should bleed vacuum when dialed to 1, 2 then 3. 0 should hold vacuum, IIRC. |

"Be gone W123 demon," was intended to refer to "Don't try and grab any W116 parts from me." I hope I didn't offend you!!!!!
