Any thoughts on what this might be 95 E300D

I am thinking of trading an 86 300e for this , it cost me next to nothing and is not worth much in todays market.

"1995 E300D MERCEDES FOR SALE.
The car was kept in good condition all services are up to date.
everything is very good. I was driving on the freeway and the engine quit , saw the oil preasure drop and coasted over and got it towed and had a friend look at it and notice the fan/engine belt was off. Charged battery and try to turn engine and it turned but very very slow. I think is that the engine is tired , it has 400,000klm"

I am thinking spun bearings caused by oil pump or drive chain failure. Possibly a broken crankshaft. Possibly partly seized due to overheating? I will only be able to get a cursory look at it but may be able to get it to crank over I may try to sample the oil to look for shiny floaters. I want to say the car is worth maybe 5-6K in running condition. I have not been able to locate an engine so far. I am kinda more interested in a dead diesel project than a running gas car.

Hey somebody in my neck of the woods. I've been watching this one on craigslist for a while now wondering what will happen too it. To be honest I think there asking too much and unless some cash changed hands, I wouldn't trade ti fro a working car. I can't see it being worth more than $1000 as a parts car, since the engine is blown. There is a 1986 TD wagon in the pickapart in chilliwack that I believe would fit if it's still there and in good shape (haven't seen it, just noticed it on there online inventory. I think you'd be better to sell your gasser, buy it for $1000, then use the remaining money to fix it. I wouldn't trade across for it. Also without the engine running you've no idea the condition of the rest of the running gear, suspension, electronics, climate control, etc, etc....

... the description sounds like he let the battery run dead, and has not tried a new battery. however, if he drove long enough to kill the battery with no serp belt, the motor and head are likely toast.
