steering wheels

Anybody know of any affordable aftermarket wooden steering wheels that will fit a w123?? Something smaller than the stock semi tractor trailer sized wheel, being a tall person it's hard getting in and out and what not.

Thanks folks!!

I'm looking for exactly the same thing. Can't wait to find a nice classy wooden steering wheel to replace the dirty looking (though very clean) old plastic/rubber wheel the car has had for the last 34 years.

I have a Nardi I bought used here. It needs a little refinishing but it is a lovely piece. Its not for sale though.;)

the 124 wheels fit perfectly, they are smaller, and many are leather, and some have wood sections.

Smaller wheels also tend to obscure the instrument cluster. Something to think about when changing steering wheels.

No adapters needed for the w124 wheel?

I had a european-market w124 no-airbag wheel on my last w126. Very nice wheel.

But it's news to me if w124 wheels will fit w123.

I was under the impression you can interchange:
- w116 < -- > w123
- w126 < --> w124

But not mix between those.

I have a Nardi I want to install also, just needs a little spiffing up. got it off a w108 in the yards for $12. not for sale.

I read about the big Buss or Semi truck steering wheels in our MB`s. don`t seem that big to me, and I have driven the large trucks and there is no comparison between the 2 type wheels.

I removed a steering wheel off 84 300SD last week, and it seems like the 123 wheel. maybe the 2nd gen 126 is different?

I always wonder if some of the tall guys, are also on the Fluffy side? ;)

wheel of fortune

Likewise I replaced my w123 steering wheel with a leather wrap classic NARDI and corresponding hub many years ago.

I end up using the KM markings for easy speedo reading since the MPH is slightly obscured along the top.

Bought mine on ebay long time ago.

patiently search and you will find !:)

What is the diameter of the W124 steering wheel? Do all years fit?

As do the 140 and 210 wheels with some modification. I have a nice leather 210 wheel in my 124 I paid 30 for.

Looks like I should try making a wood steering wheel out of the stock 123 steering wheel. A new project for my 2 month furlough time off work.

OMP monza steering wheel and momo adapter? I used to own one of the nardi wheels mentioned, and it was nice, but would have been another ~$350 to install in my car and I didnt care for the feel of it, so Im glad someone else will be getting some use out of it.

An early w201 steering wheels look like the stock wheel with no air bag, but are about an inch smaller in diameter and fit a w123.
