maintaining old seals
Hi,
Due to a little bit of rust on one of my doors, I have become quite interested in making sure all of the window seals are as good as possible. I will most likely get them all/some replaced in the future, but cannot for a few months. In the interest of protecting the seals that will not need replacement and the overall condition of all of them now, Id liek to know if there is something that would be reccomended to apply to the rubber seals on the windshields, windows, etc. I would guess to stay away from petrolleum distillates, but arent sure. Does anyone apply things to the selas to make them last longer/seal better? Thanks JMH 83 300D |

I found a product called, "back to black" at Autozone. I use it on the black rubber of the bumpers to keep it from drying out. I bet it would work well on the rubber seals you are talking about since it is a conditioner that is made for rubber parts. I believe the parent company of the product is either "Mother's" or "Mequires".
