thinking of buyin 1995 300 turbo for parts

I will be looking at this car soon, to verify head casting number and transmissiom,,, Question will these parts fit and work in my 87 300 sdl,, Up here finding 300 sdl parts is very difficult. did this car have a 22 head and my trans is a 722.321 AC components interchangeable ? Any advice is welcomed.. ps my body is rust free but most of the cars up here are rusted,, so I prefer to keep the 87 up and running till my son gets it in 10 years

I don't know how different the cars might be in Canada. Assuming they're the same as those imported into the lesser 48 provinces, the engine will be an OM606 non-turbo. This is a DOHC engine with a completely different head from the 603 engine that might have a #22 head. The engine in your 1978 model is probably an OM617 with 5 cylinders. The OM60x engines are longer; I don't know if they will fit in your '78 SDL. In any case, the 606 engines seem to have none of the problems of the 603 (and even those are somewhat overblown).

There's a typo in the original post I believe. It should be 87SDL.

What the heck is that anyways

If it is a domestic model then it should have come with a 2.5L 5cyl. I am not aware that they put the 3.0L Turbo in 95s. I have a 91 from Japan with the 3.0L . In 95 I believe they came with a 606 Dohc Non turbo engine. The pic is clearly a turbo engine. I want to say that there were 3.5L 603 engines is some 350SDs, but was not aware of them being in 124 body cars. The good news is that the 603 3.5L head is going to be an upgraded unit (maybe a #17 or higher) over the #14 head in the 87, but $3000 is a lot to pay for a head. Cheers
