Exclamation Looking for part number

I need to get a new banjo bolt for the pressure line from the switchover valve to the intake manifold. It screws into the bottom hole on the firewall side of the manifold, just below the bolt that holds the transmission filler tube to the manifold.

I've called Pelican and 2 different MB dealerships and they all said there's nothing that connects there and they don't know what I'm asking for.

If anyone knows the part number, please let me know.

EDIT: This is for my 1985 300TD.

I found it is best to buy the banjo bolt and line already put together from MB. The line is heat fused to the bolt. You can buy the 2 parts separately and fuse them together yourself....but why?

The bolt/hose assembly is part# 617-070-07-81; as martureo posted. It comes with about 2 ft of hard hose and you cut it to fit. I just replaced mine and it was about $17 from MB. Also get the 2 crush washers that go on either side of the bolt.

Thanks guys. I snapped the old hollow bolt while trying to screw it in. It didn't take much force to snap so I'm thinking it had a fracture already.

I was going to use a hollow bolt from an old ALDA, but it's 1/3 the length and doesn't even protrude from the thread inside the manifold.

I have good crush washers already, I just need to order the bolt.

Thanks again!

if you still haven't gotten a tower, I'll include a Banjo bolt from one of my motors in the box.

Wow, that's a pricey bolt. $37.50 plus shipping and it's a special order part.

I decided to buy it new, since I don't want to get a used one and have it snap off like mine did. It's no fun having to remove the manifolds to drill and tap that bolt out. 3 hours of lost time today but at least everything is ok and I just have to wait on this bolt to finish up my wagon repairs.

Good info..thanks for sharing! Would be interesting to know if they can be put together successfully or if an OEM line is best...

Chad.
Do you need the bolt or the banjo fitting with the tubing that the bolt goes through?
If you need the banjo fitting and you didnt place the order yet...I have one I just took off my 85....it is in perfect condition and I'd be happy to send it to you for free. If you need the bolt...I dont have that part.
John

My car will blow rubber hoses off even with a clamp at 14.7 psi....

Chad, put a little Anti-Ziez Compound on the threads of the bolt, it is steel going into Aluminum.
With the EGR not dumping soot into the manifold, it should stay clean.
