Valve Thruster Nut

Anyone have a good source for the larger of our 617 valve adjustment nuts ?

MB part number 615 053 00 72

I think its nuts (excuse the pun) to pay 6 to 10 bucks for a single nut.

The lock nut, MB part number 153 990 02 51 I have located at under $2.

I cant find a bigger picture either.

I looked around a little and if you can buy them for $6 somewhere that is a low price.

I suppose at the Junk Yard they would be cheap; but not new.

#4 intake is stripped for sure. Several others were obviously adjusted with something other than a 14mm.

I figure as long as I have the cam up, what better time to replace them all ?

It is indeed a crazy price for the new ones - we really need to know who makes this kind of stuff for Mercedes. There has to be a back door way of getting these parts for a reasonable price.

The smaller lock nut is apparently an MB only nut. 14mm flats are a non standard nut size. 153 990 02 51

Standard are 13mm and 15mm.

Do you have the right price?

A6150530072 adjusting nut is about €3 in Europe according to MB:
http://et.mercedes-benz-clubs.com
A1539900251 lock nut is about €7.

Both are made from special hard steel, that might explain their high price.

Good question Govert.
I found a Laso Engine Valve Adjuster Nut for $1.74 / 1.32 Euro, the measurements sure look like the lock nut, Package Size (W x H x L): 0.50 x 0.20 x 0.50 inches

3.45 US Dollar vat in. for the cap nut.

The lock nuts are now gone but I have them locally for $1.74 / 3.32 euro.

Thanks Govert
