... air shocks to replace the HYDRAULIC rams... I guess if your rams are shot, and your valve is leaking...
but the SLS is going to be superior when it's working right.

Hi to every one! I m new here and i need some help about the rear shock conversion.

I purchace a kit of air shock from:

SLSCONVERSION.COM for my w124 300tdt 1987 And i want to know if someone have buy one of those kit! It is not working on my car !!! And it look exactly the same as on is website. The problem seem to be that the shock it self is about 3 to 4 inchs to long, first:
The piston is all the way in the shock and the car sit on it. Second: If putting air in it, about 120 psi. the car is raising, well ok but the piston is still full inside, only the ballon in the shock is raising the car, so there is no absorbing effect on the car, just ride like with to basket ball ballon under the car! So i figure that they are 3-4 inchs to long ! I can not run the car at all cause its to bouncy and dangerous. I paid about 275$ for this kit, including the shipping. Somebody can help me for this problem, cause it look like i m the onlyone to have purchace a kit like this and i cant not find no more is link on E-bay ! Thank you in advance, Maxime

I am the seller of the w124 conversion kit purchased above. All shocks are tested prior to shipping and the buyer most likely blew out one of the air bellows b/c of improper installation. I recommended that he get these exchanged by the shock manufacturer under warranty. I always offer to help my customers and provide excellent customer service. I reply to emails same day etc. In addition, I recommend that the factory springs are always replaced in pairs because the factory springs are very weak and many are worn with age/mileage, something he did not do...

I have sold a good number of kits since I came out with them over a year ago. I have not one complaint from any buyer because the kits did not perform handling or load capability wise vs. the oem sls system. I tested the kit on my own test vehicle for months prior to the kits release.

Does the oem SLS work good? Yes. However, in many cases my kit represents a segment of the market that doesn't want to shell out large amounts of money to fix the SLS system on a $1000-2500 vehicle and wants a less complicated suspension. The air shock system I sell works very well and can be replaced easily when worn out at only $179 shipped to the US.

... I'll stick with repairing the SLS... it's often the accumulators anyway.
