Source for W126 brake booster line

I have searched the webstore of the sponsor of this forum and other known Mercedes parts websites for a new brake booster vacuum line for my 1986 300SDL, The little white/black plastic valve in the line (which also provides vacuum to the engine shutoff) is broken. I have been told that you cannot buy the plastic part alone; you must buy the entire line.

Is this true? If I can buy just the plastic valve, where are they available? I see that there are people producing the entire line new for sale on a very popular auction site, so there must be a source for the parts. Any help would be appreciated.

My experience has been that the black plastic line is so brittle that you could not get it apart if you wanted to repalce the valve. I just went ahead and bought a new line from the dealer. Not cheap, but it fit and worked. Seems to me I paid around $50.
