Any experience on brands for a new blower motor?

After replacing the blower on my '95 E300 with a used one twice I'm ready to bite the bullet and spend the money on a new one. My car came with the dust filter and I understand that in that case the OEM is a Behr motor instead of Bosch. The Behr blowers run about $330 but there are Meyle blowers available for $215 or so which is a good savings. I'm not even considering the Uro Parts blower.

So the question is- does anyone have experience with the Meyle blowers? Are they just more made in China crap or are they worth installing? Since the original lasted fifteen years and 220,000 miles I expect the replacement to last at least half as long as that.

the real cheese are only BOSCH motors, your car can take the regular old W124 bosch motor (less than a $100) only if you are upto some solder work or you can take your new and old motor to an oldschool starter repair shop.

The only difference between the motors is the addition of "tail" wires the dust filter type motor have them to make the connection sit under the clip, this is done because the fan wheels are smaller and wider and the wiring cannot reach the old style motor wiring receptacle on the motor itself.

What needs to be done is to desolder the old wires from the junk motor and solder them to the same points on the new motor. Transfer the fan wheels (use a slotted washer and a 2 legged puller to remove them from the shafts)

Blower Motors (BOSCH)

Zulfiqar,

So All My Dreams of the ("Filtered") filter Equipped Blower Motor[System] Being MORE powerful,
to make up for the Filter's Drag is BUNK ?
AND I should not proceed (At some later date) with plans to Retrofit the Newer ("Filtered") motor
to my older Non-Filtered HVAC system ?

The True "Dream HVAC Blower Motor" would be equipped with Sealed,Lubricated BEARINGS instead of
"Bushings".

I have changed it out on an E320 and also my car - the motor power is the same and you need a pretty beefy solder iron or use the little bernzomatic black hand held things, the wires are pretty chunky. Yes a very good design would be sealed bearings, but if a motor can survive 20 years with zeolite bearings full of oil then in my books its pretty good for slip bearing life.

Before installing I would suggest to buy the blue bottle of 3in1 oil and wick the oil into the bearings for about 2 hours for each bearing.
