If they are the "uni-beam" construction, I tried those long ago on the w126, the air guide on top of them hits the hood on a W126 when it tries to go down into the hidden park-point. Regular bosch seem to work the best on the W126.

I put on a Bosch Evolution - cageless (??) type blade on my W124, it wiped good, is quiet and parks correctly because the later W124 have the shorter wiper arm.

It wore out in a year and all I had was a smear, I fished out the old original wiper blade cage from the old parts closet - cleaned it, lubed it (it was a bit stiff) and installed a new original rubber insert in it and its performance is far better than the evolution.

HOW?? I dont know, but point to note is that I lubed the cage pins, lubed the arm hinge and refreshed the grease in the eccentric system of the wiper, which I believe makes for more pressure on the wiper.

replacement rubber inserts are less than 10 dollars for original items, I think its the best for the cars looks and also my expense book

I've always had great luck with the Trico Neoform wipers. Never had any issues with installation or wiper parking.

I used to have a Bosch Icon on my 190E, had it for maybe 2.5 years. No problems.

It eventually started streaking so I got a Valeo bracketed (original) design blade. So far so good. It looks the part too.

On my 300D I always use the bracketed design. Although I'm on the lookout for a wiper that also captures the lower corners of the windshield better. The new designs seem to have less "arms" and this makes them less flexible.

I tried Bosches that supposedly "fit," but it wasn't a clean sweep. The OEM Bosch works perfectly and I'm afraid to try anything else.

I don't think any of the Bosches do. I've always replaced the entire blade.

Bosch Icon as well and about 1 ounce of Rain-X in the washer bottle...

I've had bad experience with Rain-X - it's HARD to remove from my experience. I have pretty new blades on right now, but when I install the MB-sourced ones I'll see how different they are. The old wipers (original holders, but probably with non-original rubber inserts) hold the glass better. The rubber is thicker than the MicroEdge Bosch's. I don't know if the wipers chatter because of short rubber, or simply poor design (assuming the mechanism works fine and is pretty tight).

I make sure to use rain-x whenever we go on long trips. I don't use wipers especially when it has recently been applied. I became a believer when an 18 wheeler loaded up my windshield with a huge wave of water. The flood cleared immediately.

Regarding blades, most stores here don't sell refills any more. I hate it because the entire blade is at least twice as expensive as refill blades only.

x2 on rain-x. I change out the wiper blade spring & fall. Small price to pay for safety.
I like to see where I'm going

Rain-x does not work well on a sandblasted / pitted windshield. Tried it once and regretted it. Took forever to wear off. New windshield - fine. Old, not so much.

So buy a windshield. Approximately $200 installed for my 85SD. One of the easiest projects there is - simply open the wallet tool box, return in 1/2 hr and inspect.
