I'm thinking once I get back later to crack the bleeder nipple and see if it spurts out fluid. I was reading on the forum if it does just that then the hose is to blame.

Also, If I need to replace the caliper should I do both rears or can I get away with just replacing the problem caliper and completely bleeding the system, it looks like it needs it.

Note, I was able to easily compress the pads with a C-clamp to slide them out. So perhaps the hose is the culprit.

Car is still running well. It drips a small drop of oil every now and then and some drips of transmission fluid but everything is in order. Changing the oil tomorrow and giving it an inspection.

I do need to buff the paint to get rid of some oxidation. I think the right rear disc is warped since when I jack the car off the ground and spin that tire it catches on like a high spot, the left side is fine. The rears have more brake dust on them than the rears which worries me and when backing up the brakes squeal.

I also have some es-12 on order for the car, no bashing allowed, and I want to see how that does for the car. I do need to get the windows tinted as well, just to help. I also need to get the stupid NSS working properly since we still have to start it in N, which can be a little annoying...aaaand get a new ignition tumbler so we have one key for the car.

Let me know what you end up doing with the key issue since I'm still dealing with two keys on my 280E as well. My dealer didnt seem interested in helping get a vin matched ignition.

For oil to use, what do you all suggest. The car was converted to 134a so I'm guessing that would be PAG oil? How many ounces do I put in the system? Do I just pour it into the dryer? I think I've read that's a bad idea.

Brought home another car-imageuploadedbytapatalk1372452110.473923.jpg

6 cans showed up yesterday. Can't wait to try out this es12 stuff.

Colin and I tried to just add es12 to the system and see what happened and we ran into an issue of the low side not really sucking in the refrigerant. Colin thinks the expansion valve is to blame. So I will be pulling it all apart, flushing it with the two aerosol cans of flush, new seals, new expansion valve, new drier, good used compressor, and pull a vacuum.

then charge... I can't do it today, still need to do the oil and some other things...

Quick question.

Just bought a brand new Behr R4 compressor and it came with some assorted washers with seals on them.

Red
Green
Yellow

Has anyone come across these before and which do I use and which port do they go on?

Thanks!

This is the very confusing part. I had it done last summer and the gas station used the wrong color washer and it leaked out the next day. I replaced with the proper colored washer but I can't remember which. If you search on my handle, you can locate the thread.

Needs AC and I've been meaning to do it since the summer started, which was like April. I knew I should have not trusted a used compressor because I installed that and it sounds like a rock tumbler. Didn't even get a can in. System is clean, no black death. New compressor is going on in an hour with new $40 a can Mercedes PAG oil...

Envirosafe Users Quesion?? Not cold enough?

His boss wanted to charge me a half hour labor but I refused as it leaked out. As it is, I have to get 2 more cans of ES-12a.

So I'm getting 64 degrees at the middle vents (I rigged it open for A/C) in 90 ambient temp. Wife is happy, peace at last at home.
So is it... Yellow high side and red on the low side? Which side is which?

I also flushed the system and put 6 oz of oil in the system. So I'll put like 4.5 in to be safe

Follow the lines that go into the compressor where they come from. The low pressure line is on the top with the Blue cover and the Red covers the high pressure valve underneath.

Still need to replace the ETR and fix the aux fan but it's a bit cold here in FL and the heat is not working.
replaced the mono valve with a new part and still no heat. The hose off the aux pump is cool to the touch after a long drive, it shouldn't be, correct?

Other than that I'm at a loss.

Replaced rear pads, should have ordered discs too. I need to drill out the drivers side striker Allen head screws and replace that striker and plate behind the pillar
