Should I buy it ??
Well I decided to invest a little time in this car to see if I should by it. It had no power so the 1st thing I attacked was the valves. I can't believe it started and ran. I could not get any gauge in any valve. Most I had to make more than 2 complete turns to get near. But it did give the car life again. It was VERY clean under the valve cover. I have an 82 300td and it will drive circles around this one still. Maybe I will try fuel filters next. Owner has only put 7000 miles on it in the last 6 years. It seems real loud inside of it though. I thought a 300sd would be real quiet. Maybe the gear ratio is for highway. It does cruse at high speed. Send advise.

- Change the two fuel filters
- Clean the banjo fitting on the back of the intake manifold, it controls how much fuel is injected to compensate for the turbo's boost, makes a HUGE difference if this is clogged. - Run some diesel additive thru the system like redline. John |
