Need an Austin mechanic for 1987 200 TD wagon
Hello everyone- this is my first post on PeachParts. My amazing dad has been a member here for years, soliciting work advice on our MB wagon, and he has done all the major work on it since 2005. However, the car now stays with me up in Austin and I need to find a reliable and affordable mechanic who has worked on vintage diesel MB models. Please advise, thank you. Have a great day and thanks for reading.

Check/consult the; "Good MB Shops" forum here on PelicanParts, and click on 'Texas.' That should give you some options/info on any shops in your area.

ok, WOW, you are going to HAVE to post pictures of the car!! it must be a EURO vehicle to be a 200TD!!! I'm guessing it's a wagon, with a 4 cylinder OM601 in it? we need PICTURES and they need to include the ENGINE and the vehicle with interior pics as well!!! NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!:D:D:D:D |
A friend recently took a beautiful 79 300TD to Ben's Workshop for an engine swap. 410 Pressler St, Austin TX. He liked the shop. Welcome to the forum!

I PROMISE: photos coming soon. Thanks for the tip on Ben's Workshop, I'll be bringing my wagon in later this week.

Good link whunter. It seems Ben's has a good reputation but is expensive. Take that into consideration austin_texas_benz. Check out all the other shops on that list...

The closest I can get is San Antonio. I know a really good mechanic who lives in New Braunfels, but works at a shop in SanTone. If you're still interested let me know and I'll get the contact info for his shop.
