Question for OM617 Diesel guys

Im new here, and signed up because I found a lot of good info pertaining to the OM617 Diesel engines.

I'm working on a project vehicle to swap this engine into and the engine I have has the pump for the self leveling suspension on the front of the head.

The vehicle Im swapping into has no use what so ever for this setup. So to keep it as clean as possible what would be someones recommendation?

Is there a way to add a blockoff plate to the pump housing? Can I just loop the lines?

Also what fluid is being sent through these lines and how much pressure is put out, the lines are cut but I can see the top line is pretty thick with a small center and the return is just a regular hose. What are my options here short of finding another engine!!! Thanks!

Remove the pump, sell it, and add the plate. The pump is worth at least a hundred dollars. There's a picture in here somewhere of ForcedInductions block off plate. Just a piece of steel or aluminum bolted in place of the pump. No need to find another engine. Fluid is Febi SLS fluid.

The M110 engine has a blockoff plate that bolts right in.

That would be logical, based on their retail.

In practice, they sell in the $75-$125 range (I sold a known-good used one on eBay for $87 and it took me five months to sell it, even with 30-day full refund guarantee). That $$$ range I gave is what I have seen others listed in the parts for sale section and elsewhere.

I actually ended up buying another one on eBay.co.uk for $15 (I changed my mind and have decided to keep my SLS for the moment).

A forum member (not sure if it was breslin) and I did an exchange of W123 parts. The SLS system in my wagon was disabled, so I decided to eliminate the pump. He was the one to give me the tip...

Is this on your current wagon? If so I'd like to see how it looks (if you have the time to stop the fun(!!!!) and take a photo).

Unfortunately it is in Orwell, not Livingstone... thousands of miles from where I am at right now!

Most all 116 and 117 engines have the cover plate below the distributor.
Only cars equipped with SLS ( most 560SEL / SEC ) will not have it.
