Bosch horn Chinese knock-off
I remember when I restored old Mercedes I used to refurbish the old Bosch horns, which sell for around $100 - $200 used. Today I went to the local parts store here in Guatemala and I found a nice knock-off for $5 brand new. I really could not resist, so I got myself one!

As soon as I get the right connectors, I will! :)

Looks like a forklift horn

430Hz? That's pretty high! I'm also curious how they sound!
My classic horns (Bosch "Europa" or "FSA2") are 300Hz and 375Hz for low and high tone, respectively. |
Would there be anything wrong if I replace both horns for two 430Hz ones? Being loud is an asset down here, especially in the mountains and crowded places. ;)

I miss the sound of the old MB horns my MB. Mine's got the American big car standard sounding one.

Using 430Hz on both might sound odd, the key to dual tone horns is the blend of both. What is the other frequency available? The stock W123 horns are 400Hz and 335Hz, for comparison. The higher frequency is great for in-town or city driving, while the lower frequency is great for highway/open road driving. |
