2 problems with 85 300SD

1st problem is intermittent wiper does not work, low and high speed work but when I shut it off it stops wherever arm is at the time I have to time it just right to get it to stop at bottom of windshield.Last time I had this problem I replaced relay #000 821 08 63 with a used one it worked for awhile and now same thing again. I was wondering if there is some way I can put power to the relay to check it if good or not or should I try to check the stalk out to see if problem lies there? Also in this snowy wet weather my floor boards on both passenger and driver side in rear are soaking wet any ideas where this water could be coming in at?

Look at the drain hole located under the hood behind the battery. Also sunroof drains these easily get clogged on the older girls.

wiper relay

Thanks for the replys I will check into the relay you suggested partscarver. I was wondering if I could jump the realy out to see really if it is the problem it has 6 pins on it (31-S-31b-86-15-3) appreciate it if any one could tell me if possible to jump some pins to see if the relay is really bad or if the problem lies in the stalk. I was also wondering that if I got the relay partscarver suggested that as I turn the actuator on stalk to 1st notch to engage intermittent wiper would I have total control as to how fast I wanted the wiper to run before it got to the notch after that would be reg. speed then high.

water can be buggerbear to find on the SD... it's often the windshield seal... look in the hinge pockets of the hood, and under the brake booster... anyplace in that fake firewall can collect water, and if the condensate drain is plugged, rain/snow can collect in the cowling, and get into the airbox, and drain all over the floor...
