Mercedes traction aid

Why does the automatic traction aid only assist the left rear tire and only while in reverse? I got stuck in the snow and had to dig myself out, but noticed the car had been laying down a patch of soot behind the left rear tire. If only they had run dual exhaust exiting before both rear tires. This would have been way more usefull in my opinion.

It doesn't matter if you know what you're doing, as long as you look like you know what you're doing.

sounds like you need to make an adjustment to your exhaust system! install duals back there.

What's really sad is the traction control system on the W210. It uses the ABS to apply the brake on the spinning wheel, which causes the other wheel to spin, so it puts the brake on that wheel. It goes back and forth until there we are, halfway up the driveway, with the foot to the floor and both rear wheels locked in place by the brakes.

My '91 SDL will lock the diff. when it senses wheel spin and the car just walks right up the hill.
