This happens with so many things. Silly German brand protection.

I think that the whole branding protection is getting a little out of hand though.

Next thing you know, they will make one legal mistake and then legally have to rebrand their own vehicles or pay fines to themselves!?!?!?

I really do hope they do not outlaw Gullwing replicas worldwide by the time I can get to afford one...

I have a lead on a white 300SL Gullwing in a remote village of Venezuela. If the price is right, I might be continuing the PanAm in it... if the price is not right, I will offer it to someone to restore it to garage queen condition.

I have driven them. Not only is the entry awful and the seating position not conducive to good driver control, the handling and braking is horrific.

Sexy is Koenigsegg and they are as comfortable as an A7 on the road....IMHO after driving them anyways.

Hey Miguel, Word ^

When I was a supermarket bagboy many many many many yrs ago one of my first good books with lots of info on my first loves--67-8 camaros, had a bunch of original test drives from road n track etc.
One was of a very famous 60's american racer from the trans-am pony car wars- Sam Posey -who mostly ran for Chrysler. The test drive was of a little obscure 1967 special edition model Camaro named after its regular production option code --- Z28.

Sam was a graduate of the Rhode Island school of Design, and designd most of the buildings around lime rock park race course.
Anyway the article mentoins sam wheels up for the test run in his white gullwing mercedes.....

At least it would a 3.0 litre
