1980 Mercedes Benz 300SD (W116)
I'd like to repair rust around and under the fuse box. How do I remove the fuse box?
Thanks,

Four (8mm?) nuts at the rear of the fuse box on the inside of the cab, as I remember correctly. Yes, they are difficult to reach. I think you can unscrew the connector blocks and separate them into two halves with the wires still attached. Then you have to disconnect the wire harness that goes to the headlights, etc., and push it through. It's a bit of work, for sure. You might be able to unbolt the fuse box and then move it enough out of the way to patch the metal, while lifting the wires with it. Good luck.
