Where did you find that number? that is an impressive #. only took 14 years from when the Forum began. how long will it take to hit the 2nd million?
As the number of old Diesels dwindle down, it might take longer to hit it the second time around.

Edit:

Well Duhh....all I had to do was go on the main page of tech Forums.

The rest of them better speed it up, they say Diesels are slow.

I would have thought Open Discussion would be way ahead, (840K) by the way they go at it over there.

I think there will be many more views going forward, and the 2nd million will only be a fraction of the time. There are so many of these cars getting in the hands of young people, like myself, that don't really know what we are doing, and need the help of the forum. And when a young person doesn't know what to do, they don't reach for a shop manual -- they google it, and this forum shows up. Long live ours wonderful cars!

Thats 1,000,000 Posts, not views. Views are probably hundreds of times that. The top 10 most viewed threads account for over a million views by themselves, and there's over 88,000 threads....

Do we still have access to the "old" threads from mercedesshop days? The reason I ask is that I still have some stuff I printed out from 2004 when we bought the first of our herd (the 87 w201 2.0 euro model) and realized that I havent seen posts from Boneheaddoctor, Germanstar, Diesel Giant in a while. Nevermind- did a search and found posts from back in 2004, so they're back there, but way back there! Still haven't seen posts from some of the old guard for a while tho.

Boneheaddoctor was on line this past year but the other two you mention I haven`s seen.

It seem to be a bit more difficult to search for things now that they took away the Google search part of the search drop down box.

yeah, POSTS, not views, Pfft... My strip party thread is over 1/4 a million views I think... (EDIT... ok, not close to that, only around 26K on there, still that's just one thread!!!)
I cannot imagine how many views the forum has had!
likely over a billion.

The Open Discussion counter was turned off many years ago = none of the postings register.
Look carefully and you will notice six year+ OD members with zero post count, but search results show over 500.

This is an Automotive Technical forum, with amazing group knowledge, skills, trust, the owner/webmaster and moderators work to keep it that way.

are you sure of that? I knew the member's post count does not change in OD, but I thought the forum post count did...
I just made a post in OD, and the count went up.

Remember when the Three Word Story on the Open Discussion drove members' post counts? That is probably what pushed it over the edge, resulting in no more counting in OD.
