'92 300D runs cold - why?
I have three 300D's (two 92's and one 93) and two of them operate at 80-90C range and blow lots of hot air.
One of the '92 300D's has always operated (since I've owned it) in the 70-80C range and blows 'warm' air. Is this a sign of a bad thermostat or maybe the wrong one installed at one time? It's not a big deal - it's just one of those things that makes me go "hmmm". -John |

X2 on the bad thermostat... Easy fix. Don't overtorque the bolts. Don't ask me how I know...

70C is VERY HOT, so while it's not the norm, it's plenty hot to get hot air from the engine.
you likely have two problems, one, a thermostat from a motor designed for the tropics... two a non functioning aux water pump, or a bad monovalve...
