300 TD Engine swap questions

I had a freak problem where a stud on the oil filter canister broke and all the oil spewed out while my wife was driving our 85 300 td wagon. I think I have a bent connecting rod so I am in the process of swapping this engine and tranny with an extra engine and tranny from an 82 wagon that I had around.
I discovered that the 85 has 2 sensors that are not on the 82 and I am looking for advice for what to do about it. One is an extra sensor on the block- just forward of the other one on the block the other is on the tranny at the flywheel. Both join with connectors on the center of the firewall.
One is a three prong cylindrical connector and the other is a flat two prong.

What exactly do they do and what would you suggest? Can I just install the engine and leave these leads unconnected?

Thanks so much!

interesting. you've got a few different questions on your car don't ya!

ok, here's what I'd do.

anything from the new motor that's different with the old motor, I'd swap the parts from the old motor and put them on the new one.

The connector on the transmission is for the tach. You should be able to ignore that since you've got the tach pickup in the front pulley and the tach amp on the fender.
