W123 wheel spacers
On a wheel quest for my 85 300d. Sourced a set of BBS wheels.
I feel I will need a spacer (Wheel is 15x8 et25) Will these hubcentric spacers work for our vehicles? It is a 66.56 hub size, and 5x112. Looks like a good choice.??? (He can get the proper bolts for our cars) 2 5mm 5x112 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers 66 56 Bore 10 Black Extended Lug Bolts | eBay |
The compatibility chart says they don't....
Center bore should be 66.5, so I imagine you could get away with 6.6...;) The lug holes are 14mm though, and pretty sure your 85 has 12mm bolts. I have a set of (4) 5mm H&R spacers that I never used. Went to a wider set for my 83 SD (12mm). Love the fit of the H&R's, and I've had no issues with them. |
Yeah those eBay compatibility charts aren't working half the time
Audi is a 66.56 like our cars and they run these. Also he can get the proper bolts (12x1.5) Anyone have any other input on running these on a w123? |
Anyone run hubcentric spacers all around on a w123?
I want to order, but dont want to be screwed! lol |
i have and am using spacers with no issues. Just need to get the appropriate longer bolts.

Also, make sure you get quality bolts, as there will be more stress on them going the extra distance to the hub. They claim grade 10.9 which is roughly the equivalent of SAE grade 8, so they should be more than adequate. The issue you may have is that the 5mm versions don't have a center ridge for the center of the wheel to rest on. With oversized bolt holes, it may be a nuisance to get lined up, especially in the front where the center of the hub is rather small. If you are interested, I would let go of the (4) 5mm H&R's for $50. I'm never going to use them, and you typically cannot return spacers or wheel bolts. Of course you would still need wheel bolts, and that would make it more expensive than buying the set you linked to.;) |
