1985 300D INJECTORS LEAKING?

Hi, diesel is leaking near an injector on my 1985 300D. I suspect the source to be where the fuel line meets the injector, but is it possible/likely the injector itself is leaking? The car runs fine & nothing appears loose. Are there any special warnings to contemplate before replacing the injector feed line(s)?
Also, because I greatly appreciate the advice I've received from this forum, is there a way to donate? Thanks, C

Have you checked the cloth-covered injector return lines? They are often brittle and in my experience are the cause of sudden fuel leaks near injectors on an engine that otherwise runs well.

Hope this helps...

Howdy,

The vast majority of the times this occurs, it is the flexible return lines. I would swap out the injector flexible return lines first. If that really does not fix the issue, then I would ever so slightly tighten the 17mm nut just a hair. It is very unlikely that the halves are leaking.
