There are others out there. Perhaps you will get lucky and find one in your backyard!

I'm just a little bit more than disappointed. I really wanted that interior.
Aww... I've dealt with this multiple times. It really hurts. I'm regularly scanning this area for 'Benzes, so I'll certainly let you know if I run into anything.

One thing I have learned is if you know exactly what you want if you find it it is best to buy it even if you have to pay a little extra. Having lost out on some things over the years.

I'm gonna keep looking. I will also have my contacts in MA keep an eye out for me.

The saddest part is that I could have had the money to my mom a lot quicker if I could have done a bank transfer. Unfortunately she has an IRS levy on all of her accounts so I had to send a certified check. I suppose I could have wired the money but the fees they charge left me hoping that the expedited shipping of a check would be favorable. If I had known I had a contact in the logistics industry, I would have sent the money the day I saw the car. I wanted to weigh the options of shipping versus driving and that meant having someone trustworthy inspect the car. I suppose I don't have to make that mistake again.

If anyone sees a parts car with a mint condition interior, that preferably can drive onto a trailer, let me know. I can be flexible on the interior color so long as it is complete and from a SWB car. I would be limited to a W126 300SD, 300SE or 380SE. Gen 2 interior with a glove box is preferred but I would take a gen 1 if it is nice. My wood is nice, so I can transfer that if necessary.

Has anyone here had success with copart.com? I see some wrecked cars with nice interiors. I don't want to buy a good running car because I won't have the heart to strip the parts out. If the car has some sort of problem or damage to parts I do not need, then I can justify parting it out.

I'm not sure what would be required to bid on Copart cars in TX but heres one literally in your backyard. The photos show a noteworthy interior, and in your desired color:

Copart

That is a W124. I can't use anything from it in my W126. At least not to the extent I need. I do have some minty visor clips from a W124 in my car right now, though.

whunter,

I'll give him a call and see what he has for a dash, etc. Thanks!

Sorry, I just quickly entered the years for a W126 and did a quick scan of interiors.

Will keep an eye out locally for possibilities.

He was going to check his inventory for a dash and call me back. Never called back. I guess I will try calling him one more time.

Found this interior on Copart

Found this interior on Copart, in Little Rock, AR. From checking their website, it appears that individuals can bid on titled cars in Arkansas. I'm not familiar with their registration for bidding, etc., but it might be worth check in to.

Copart
