Hi Inkblotz,

Yes, I bought it. I would LOVE some guidance on fixing it up. I'll definitely need some parts as well.

Thanks,

Packman

There are tons of online resources. There are G specific threads where you will find helpful experts, do-it-yourself tutorials, resources like lists of new and used parts suppliers, etc for the W460 G, like yours.

Try these forums:

- pointedthree
- expedition portal
- benzworld

Also, there are some clear experts in area that have been very helpful to the G community, myself included. These are guys likeHarald Pietschmann of 4X4abc (driving instructions) and Karl Volger of g-wagenaccessories, Steve Dempsey from Eurotruck Importers and Vladimir Sivitski from fourbyfourclub (last 3 are all parts suppliers and outfitters).

Good luck with the G. I'm sure you'll love it as much as I love mine!!

Looks like a nice one, good for you.
I had a chance at one locally some years ago, the guy had imported it from Egypt. Although it didn't have rust, there were some things about it I didn't like, especially the way it revved in 4th gear (wasn't geared for North-American highways) - I kept looking for a 5th gear to shift to, which wasn't there. I couldn't have lived with that, so passed on it, but it was nice to see one up close and take it for a test drive.
Good luck with yours, enjoy it!!

Not really. It is all fiberglass and epoxy. He has been traveling for the last 2 1/2 years throughout the America's with no major problems. He is now driving to the tip of South America, and then having his rig shipped to somewhere in Malaysia (I think that is what he said), and then drive back home to Belgium (kinda like the guy that has been road-tripping in his G Wagon). Another photo from last year:
