Yeah daw... getting even harder to find new one`s.

I ordered some parts from our local Dealer, and the parts guy said it is getting harder and harder to get w123 parts.

Lucky for me it's the left front one. Thanks for the advice on the Febi.

Any place to get door map pockets or is it to the JY or Ebay hunting I go?
It cracked when I was taking it out (due to my stupidity) "Lift UP and OUT of the slot" the manual said....instead of pulling the panel away from the door. C-R-A-C-K!
"Crap! So THAT's what that meant!"

Junk yard or E-bay or buy a good parts car.

I broke the tab off (Drivers door) and used a small screw and something on the back side to hold it on. really can`t tell unless you are looking for it.

Stupid Question: How do I know what "color" my interior is? Palamino? Beige? Where is it listed on the car? (it looks to be light tan to me).

That's a great idea!!!

Yours is like mine, I just call it tan, don`t know the official name.

Iam going to the Dealer on Wed to pick up a couple parts I ordered. If I remember I`ll have the parts guy run my VIN to see what I have.

I was at the dealer today picking up my order, and asked the Parts guy what color my Interior is. He ran the Vin# and it comes up as Bamboo.
So yours is probably the same.

I needed a new Radio Antenna. our 240 came with a manual Antenna, and it wouldn`t go up or down. even soaking it with Kroil, I guess the corosion must have go the best of it or it got tweeked.

The parts guy looked it up, and is NLA.:( He said they only came with the 240D.

So if you have one and need to replace it, don`t order the one here on Pelican. I ordered one a couple years ago, and they are made in China and are not the same. they are shorter, and the tube is smaller diameter, and the Coax cable is a different connection. the smaller diameter tube means that the bracket from it to the pinch weld on the inner fender will not line up.

Bamboo....well, there it is.
So I wonder what the Palomino color is.
That sucks on the antennae the guy that I bought the car from forgot to put it down going through a car wash one day and broke it. It's still there, but it leans backwards as it snapped it in half.

Manuel boost controller..?? If so how does it work

I have a 82 300sd. It has had multiple upgrades before i got it and I dint know what this adjustable (it turns clockwise and counter) knob is on the drivers side below the break release. And it has 2 thick hoses bout the size of a finger and I think they go to the turbo one connects up top the other below Hopefully the pic will help (i cant figure out how to upload more than 1 pic at a time). also are there different types of this knob?

It looks like the control valve of a manual boost controller. Maybe it's Manuel's; I wouldn't know. Maximum boost is limited by the wastegate which opens so exhaust gas bypasses the turbine. The wastegate responds to compressor outlet pressure. Your 82 SD wastegate was set at the factory to open between 0.7 and 0.8 bar, if memory serves. The manual boost controller is a valve that either (a) introduces a leak in the boost signal to the wastegate actuator so higher compressor outlet pressure is required to open the wastegate, or (b) holds the boost signal to a higher setpoint before releasing it to the wastegate actuator. I can't tell which is in place by the control knob. Maybe someone else will recognize it if it's a retail product rather than something someone cobbled together. Is there a boost gauge in your car?

Something to consider is that the injection pump has a device that restricts fuel in proportion to the amount of air available for combustion. Even without this device the injection pump can only flow a given amount of fuel, less than the turbo is capable of providing air for. Keeping this device in place and not overly adjusted provides a level of safety. Running more than 1.1 bar of boost for extended periods without monitoring exhaust gas temperature and/or allowing more fuel gets you closer to melting engine parts.
