^ Yes, I've tried that, nothing found, it would be for a friend now, but I may be in need at some point and it doesn't take much for me to buy another tool.

And thanks, I do quite like the white headlight doors.

Love the custom work. I am glad you forewarned about "the Dip" as I was about to do my side curtains in black.

If done properly, with many many many coats...it should peal right off. I think its better suited for late model cars that have less body detail. With our benzs, theres TONS of little cracks and seams between body panels and chrome trim...making it nearly impossible to remove 100% of the plasti dip.

Normally I'm not a fan of the murdered out look but on yours I like it. Steelies and white wall tires and it would look killer IMHO.

That's one way ticket to snap city. Those rods can't handle benz springs.

Absolutely fantastic job!!! As one who is struggling to learn body work myself, I can totally appreciate the effort this took. The satin looks great!

A liitle update....

I bought a spring compressor off eBay and chopped some coils. The fronts were stubborn and had to unbolt the lower control arm to get the spring out even with the compressor. The rears were a breeze. I took 2 coils off the front and 1.5 off the rears. The car still looks higher in the front so another half coil off the front and ill be satisfied. On every forum people complain about how the ride quality goes to **** but I disagree. I don't notice much change other then less body roll around corners...but each his own

Also removed the tints...looks a hundred times better. Euro lights on the way too!

I was car shopping with my mother on friday, and in the showroom is a 2014 SLK biturbo v12... it's got matt silver paint... it looks AWESOME... of course it's wrapped around a $112K vehicle... so, um, yeah... it'd look awesome covered in dog poop...

Okay, a little update...

16x7.5 American Racing 2-Piece wheels ET11 (perfect fitment, gotta love it). Wrapped it in some 205/55/16R rubber and rolled the front fenders. Chopped a total of 3 coils off the front, still need to work on the rear fitment...more low and spacers but its sitting pretty nicely as is. ride quality is as expected. exhaust scraps speed bumps though.

chopped off 50 lbs of exhaust resonators with no change in sound. Im thinking of running a straight pipe out the side. we'll see. enjoy.

DEPO euro lights off ebay. great quality for the price. if youre looking to buy these, dont waste your money on the wiring harness they supply (for $30). Just mod your existing 4 pin plug or buy a 6 pin plug.

not your average daily driver...

the only thing that bugs me about this whole project is that the silver trunk lid strip comes off in 2 whole minutes. aaaaaaaaaahhh. probably less time than finding the masking tape.
