1999 E300D Condenser Help

I am new to the forum and recently bought a 1999 E300D which had been run into the back of a jeep and cracked the condenser, bent the fan clutch, trashed the fan and crimpled the front of the hood and top radiatior crossmember. Long story short i got all the new parts for the engine and a condenser which is supposed to fit however I dont think it will fit a 300D due to the intercooler being in the way. So now I am looking for the correct condenser and I may have found one. My question is does anyone know how to reach the fitting once the radiator is installed? It looks like if I took the bumper off I could reach them very easily. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kip

Hi, welcome to the group! I've never had to remove the condenser but I've had the radiator out. Later this morning, I'll look at the car and see if I can figure out anything. As I remember, the bumper cover is not that hard to remove.

Thanks a bunch! The radiator wasnt bad except for the lower transmission line and the interference with the intercooler. Really appreciate the help!

OK, I just looked at mine and the condenser fittings run forward at about a 45 deg. angle just over top of the intercooler outlet. The lines run forward and have a U bend in them that turns them around into the fittings for the condenser.

I also looked all around and you really have to take off the lower fascia to access the fittings. It's not that hard.

We ended up loosening the front bumper and removing the intercooler. Looks like we can get to them now. Just got to find a hood now and we should be rolling. Thanks for the help!
