Pay at the pump cuttoff around here is mostly $125 up from $75 a few years ago.
For a diesel that is known to get much better mpg, I wouldn't write home about a high of 16.6 mpg.

Martureo's co-worker's new gashog Tahoe @ 14 mpg looks pretty sweeet!

A $75 dollar cutoff would have me doing three transaction to fill the Dodge from empty at the fuel prices around here ($1.227/LITER).
OTOH, at the local fuel stop, you don't have to pre-pay or give them your drivers license, you fill your vehicle and pull up to the store so someone else can fuel up while you pay the girls inside. The price of fuel brings tears to your eyes, living in this type of community has benefits. You wouldn't go away and leave your doors unlocked or the keys in the car, but it hasn't gotten real bad.

Trip meter reading? 769 miles. And I know I pulled at least three or four gallons out of that baby.

I don't envy Suburban owners at all. My coworker has a brand new Tahoe and he gets 14 mpg on his 40 mile round trip commute. While I drive my stock 84 300D 46 miles round trip with 27 mpg.
I get high teens with mine (diesel of course). Some guys on my 6.5 forum with the lower rear ratios claim regular low 20s. Not bad for a 9000 pound aerodynamically challenged vehicle.

Wasn't bragging about mileage Joe, only brought it up because the cost of a fill is much more thann Matureo's $99.80. I don't recall saying that this was my "high" either. Perhaps read a bit more carefully next time.

But since you did, I rarley put more than 37 gallons at a time in and most of my fills are with winter diesel (since that is when I drive it the most) and a 373 rear, 16-18 is pretty much the norm, a tad higher in the summer. Or perhaps you have more experience with 6.5?

amazing...

Thank GOD the diesel pump is not used by many customers. a quality Diesel driver found the wallet, and returned it to me.

I'm thrilled.
Glad you got it back.

Three of my local stations have a $50.00 limit.

I didn`t catch what the cut off was in the begining here. I don`t use a Credit Card, just give them a $100 bill and come back in for the crumbs.

The majority of the time in my PU I give the guy $20 Bucks and that gives me 5 gal + -, then I get the cut off. that is good for a couple PNP runs.

Cutoff here really varies. Usually it's $75 if you use a credit card. Some stations were putting a $100 "hold" on your money for 2-3 days meaning you couldn't use it until it was released. I haven't seen that happen in quite a while, though. I use a station offering a discount for cash. I'm pretty sure the credit card merchant agreements don't allow that but who's checking? There's a regional chain that uses a special debit card program to knock ten cents off per gallon but that chain doesn't sell diesel so it only helps with my gas jobs.

The area where I work is kind of funny. People will steal copper pipes out of homes, steal engines and transmission left behind the shop, steal a compressor out of the back of a truck parked at the store across the street. Yet we've had people leave cars unlocked on the street in front of the shop for days with paper money in the console and nothing was disturbed. I hate leaving my car overnight at work yet one of the guys happened to leave a portable tool box out back in a car and no one touched it over a three day weekend.
