Complete Sanden 616/617 retrofit kit for sale- 2013 Summer Special

I am now offering a complete Sanden retrofit kit for your 616/617. The complete kit includes: New compressor with rear port ("K") head, Compressor mounting bracket and hardware, New hoses (high and low side attached to the compressor), New receiver/drier.

+++++++2013 Summer Special for the first 5 complete kits: $400.00 Postage included (I only have 5 kits at this price)++++++++

The regular price for the complete kit is $420 + $20 S/H. Purchasing the parts separately would cost the same $420 (comp.-$160 + bracket-$180 + hoses-$80) not including the drier, and the shipping would be more. I add the drier and pay the extra shipping if the complete kit is purchased.

I charge a $40 core deposit on the low side hard pipe, as it needs to have a fitting brazed on one end:

If your hard pipe is sent to me before, there is no extra charge because I will modify your pipe and send it with the complete kit. If you purchase just a hose kit, the same thing applies.

Excuse my lack of knowledge as I'm new to the workings of the AC on our cars(finally decided to fix mine!) but this kit includes everything to get this compressor installed in the car, this compressor is viewed as being superior quality to the one equipped in the car originally, and it is designed to use R134a Refrigerant?

For some reason I feel like that post comes off as sarcastic, but I mean it in a totally curious way. haha

I've been reading the many threads on this kit and if my conclusions are correct, I'll definitely be coming to you for one of these kits in the upcoming months. I just need to make sure the rest of my AC system is sorted. Compared to the pricing I've found on just the normal replacement AC stuff, this is a really good deal.

The Sanden style (wobble plate axial piston) compressor is much more efficient, quiet, and longer lasting than the GM R4 unit originally installed in these cars. The complete kit comes with everything needed except the additional oil and dye (about 2 ounces needs to be added to complete the oil charge), your refrigerant of choice (R134a, R12,etc.), and the labor to complete the system. You will need to flush your evaporator and condenser before installing the hoses and drier. You may also want to replace the remaining hoses, pressure switch, thermal fan switch, and TXV (expansion valve), but it is not an absolute necessity to do so. Obviously the remaining parts of the system need to be in working order (blower, CCU, aux fan, etc.)....Rich

Thanks for the info man, that sounds really great. Pretty soon I'm going to get to work making sure the rest of my AC system is up to par, and if so, I'm all over one of these kits. Hope you still have them by then. haha Thanks!

Will this kit fit directly on a 1985 300D?

Yes, any 616 or 617 W116, W126, W123 from '78-'85. Not sure about '77 or earlier, as they did not have the R4, so no mounting may be on the block.

3 kits sold, 2 more tentative orders

I already have 3 kits sold, and 2 more tentative orders. Don't worry, I still have the bracket kits and hose kits available. I may be able to get another batch of compressors, but if so, the complete kit price will increase....Rich

4 kits sold, one left

I have sold 4 of the 5 kits, but have not gotten a definite answer on the last one. I have more compressors coming, so complete kits are still available at the regular price. I can sell all the parts individually as needed, or as complete kits.
If you decide not to buy the complete kit but just the bracket and/or the compressor, the prices are: Compressor- $160 + $20 S/H/I, Bracket kit- $180 + $20 S/H/I, Hose kit- $80 + $20 S/H/I. Drier- $15 I can ship a compressor, drier, and bracket in one carton for $25 S/H/I (if ordered together). There is also an added $20 for the extra hose if a parallel flow condenser is used.

Because of increased labor and postage costs, I am now charging $30 for modifying the low side hard pipe if ordered with a hose kit. You can modify the pipe yourself with the fitting provided with the kit if you desire (weld it yourself, or have it done). The reason for the change is because I can't send back the modified pipe in a flat rate box, so the postage costs are more than what is in the budget. Also, doing only one at a time (welding, cleaning, painting, packaging) is much more labor intensive than I originally allowed for. I will still provide this service, but it will add $30 to the cost of the hose kit. If you decide to do it yourself, the hose kit will arrive in a flat rate box with the fitting to be welded on (by others). The advantage here is that no time is used waiting for the pipe to make a trip to me and then back to you, and also the postage savings (sending the pipe to me). PM if interested. Thanks, Rich
