How To Fix/Replace Trunk Latch & Lock...Mine Is Shot
Have 1982 MB 240D Sedan...trunk latch/lock needs replacement...can't seem to find ANY replacement parts in secondary market online....
ANY IDEAS on where to find new replacement parts and/or a GUIDE on how to repair this mechanism....it feels as though the SPRINGS in the lock cylinder are gone and I don't see how I'm going to get inside that cylinder to replace springs.....my days as a Swiss Watchmaker are long gone...lol... Thanks in advance for any leg up on this issue....Cheers! |

Answer
Take the tumbler to the best locksmith you can find.
If it is only springs, they should be able to disassemble clean and repair it. All internal tumbler parts are what MB calls security relevant = they never release any of these... .
